Recently we have a trip from Tokushima City (Shikoku Island) to Kofu City (Honshu Island). To cross Shikoku Island to Honshu Island,we decided to go to Kobe City, which is the nearest big city that has Shinkansen Stations. There are two nearest Shinkanshen Station from Tokushima; they are Shinkobe and Nishiakashi stations. Shinkobe is better than Nishiakashi in number of sinkansen per hour. Shinkobe Station can be reached from Tokushima directly by JR bus that takes about 2 hours, and the ticket price is 3200 yen per person. From Tokushima to Nishiakashi station is needed to get down at Maiko bus stop, and then continued by train to Nishiakashi. Tokushima-Nishiakashi takes around two hours by Eddy Bus or JR Bus (2900 yen), get down at Maiko Highway Bus Stop, then continue by train (170 yen). So, we think that it will be more convenience to go to Shinkobe Station.
From Shinkobe there are some routes to go to Kofu City. The first route is Shinkobe-Shizuoka by shinkansen (it takes about 2 hours and the ticket price is 11,540 yen) and then from Shizuoka-Kofu City by using Wideview Fujikawa Limited Express (it takes about 2 hours 20 minutes and the price of ticket is 4,500 yen). The second route is Shinkobe-Nagoya-Shiojiri-Kofu by Sinkansen to Nagoya, Wideview Shinano Limited Express to Shiojiri and Azusa Limited Express to Kofu. It takes around 4 hours (14,690 yen).
We decided go to Kofu City from Shinkobe-Shizuoka-Kofu, it takes about 4 hours, 30 minutes and total price is 13,810 yen. It is better to buy direct ticket from Shinkobe to Kofu, because it is cheaper than buy ticket in each station. The reason why we choose Sizuoka route because we can experience riding sinkansen longer and we only need to change once. That time we hope we can see Mount Fuji, because this route will go through the Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, that time the weather was not so good, so we could not see the beautiful Mount Fuji because it was covered by cloud.
