Autumn at Kiyomizu-dera (Kyoto, Japan)

Kiyomizudera (pure water temple) is located in the Kyoto city. This is a Budhist temple that has been listed as one of World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in December 1994. This temple is surounded by numerous cherry and maple trees, hence it will be a nice place for sighseeing in the spring and autumn season. This time we visited the kiyomizudera in the autumn season. The scenery of Kiyomizudera in the autum season is shown in the pictures below.

I, my self have visited this temple for four times. Kiyomizudera is one of symbol of Kyoto that is suggested to visit, So when you come to Kyoto city, it is suggested to visit  this temple.

In my opinion, I found some unique things of this place such as, there are many shops that we can find along the way to this temple, a unique view of the people that are queing to drink the pure water  from Otowa waterfall and the main building of temple with the wooden stages.

Kiyomizudera can be reached from Kyoto Station by bus number 100 or 206 (15 minutes, 220 yen). Get off at Kiyomizu-michi bus stop, from where it is a ten minute uphill walk to the temple. Alternatively, Kiyomizudera is about a 20 minute walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station along the Keihan Railway Line. For sugestion if you have a planing for sighseeing around Kyoto City, it is better to buy a city bus ticket. The price is only 500 yen, and you can use it to visit any place for one day. The ticket can be bought in the station or the convinience store such as lowson, family mart and so on.
